We were handed the keys on the 22nd December 2011…We gave it a good scrub, lit some candles and opened the doors that very same night. There was no brand spanking new make-over, just some small changes here and there. The Three Compasses is hundreds of years old, and we’ve strived to stick to its roots as a proper East End boozer. No pretension, just the best local craft beer, delicious burger pop-ups, friendly staff, major sports fixtures on projectors, a lovely beer garden and the best pub quiz in Hackney.

We’ve earned a great reputation for our burger pop-ups, scouring street food markets to find you the best pub food offering in Hackney. Our current kitchen residents Filthy Buns serve up the very best burgers in East London, so says The Hackney Gazette and Hot Dinners. With free range meat from Ginger Pig and half the menu being vegan (and hotly touted by The Little London Vegan) they really do cater for everyone.

As well as serving the best Guinness in Dalston and craft beer big guns Beavertown & Camden, we’re proud to serve a great selection of local craft beers from independent breweries of the likes of 40FT Brewery, Crate, Signature Brew & Hop King. We've an extensive spirits selection, especially single malts and gin, a solid wine list, and we now serve Espresso Martinis & Passionfruit Martinis on tap. I know!
